You will find public events that I will be attending or working. I am also going to be providing a number of classes and trips that will require that you make reservations for.

Show Season is About to Start

The Fly Fishing Show (FFS) at the Denver Mart – January 4,5,6 2018

The Fly Fishing Show at the Denver Mart for many fly fishers is the signal that a new year has arrived. I know for a fact that the FFS is one of my favorite events every year. Consisting of 150+ companies presenting their products for the 2018 season, there is something for everyone. There will be some awesome presentations by many of the heavy hitters from the fly fishing world as well. Seldom are you able to go to one location to hear from the likes of Wendy Gunn, Daniel Galhardo, George Daniel, Pat Dorsey, Dave Whitlock, and Jason Randall.

Yours truly, the Tenkara Grasshopper, will be present at the Tenkara USA booth (O18) sharing my knowledge of tenkara. As a Signature Fly Tier for Tenkara USA, I will be sharing some of my favorite kebari patterns with everyone. Stop by the Tenkara USA booth and come say hi.

In association with Brook Fishing Equipment, I am providing one dozen of my CFR (Casting For Recovery) Special Edition Kebari. The box and CFR Special Edition Kebari will be available for purchase at the Casting For Recovery booth (E28) starting on Friday morning. There is only one box available and all proceeds will be donated directly to the Casting For Recovery Colorado Chapter. Get there early to take a look. I will also be tying and selling the CFR Special Edition Kebari at the Tenkara USA booth for $2.00 a kebari. Any sales of this pattern will be donated at the end of the show to the Casting For Recovery Colorado Chapter.

International Sportmen’s Expo (ISE) – Denver Convention Center – January 11, 12, 13, 14, 2018

I am an avid outdoorsman who has a passion for a range of activities. Living in Southeast Aurora, a suburb of Denver, I am within a short drive of the mountains. I am also lucky enough to have the ISE take place at the Denver Convention Center every year. The ISE is by far one of the biggest expositions that occur in the Front Range of Colorado.

In 2018, there are a number of additions that have been announced that will make this an especially interesting show. Being able to learn about “off-the-ground” camping and elk hunting in Colorado in the same venue is pretty cool. With the number of booths staffed by outdoor professionals offering an incredible array of services, there is truly something for everyone.

NoCoFlyFishing/Dragontail Tenkara

The 2018 Denver ISE has also brought me the opportunity to share my love of tenkara with an even wider audience. I will be working the NoCoFlyFishing booth, discussing tenkara and booking trips, fly fishing, and tenkara clinics for the coming year. In a crazy turn of events, NoCoFlyFishing will be sharing a booth with the Dragontail Tenkara Company. This is an occurrence that does not happen often and I am really excited for a very fun show. Come on by Booth 2504 and say hi to the crew of NoCoFlyFishing and Dragontail Tenkara.

In association with NoCoFlyFishing, Brook Fishing Equipment, and Tenkara Grasshopper Media Services we will be offering something new this year. Brook Fishing Equipment is providing a fly box that will be filled with one dozen Denver ISE Only Special Edition Purple Heart Kebari tied by yours truly. All proceeds from the sale of the Brook Fishing Equipment box and Special Edition Purple Heart Kebari will be donated to the Denver Chapter of Project Healing Waters. I will be offering additional Denver ISE Special Edition Purple Heart Kebari for a small donation at the NoCoFlyFishing/Dragontail Tenkara booth.

Robert Younghanz The Bug Guy

If you come looking for me at the NoCoFlyFishing/Dragontail Tenkara booth, I might be walking around the show. Or I could be hanging out at the Bug Guy booth. Robert Younghanz, aka The Bug Guy, will be talking bugs and what they mean to fly fishers the world over. Along with talking bugs, Robert and those of us helping him out will be selling his DVD, Entomology for the Fly Fisher. This is definitely the ultimate resource to learn about the bugs important to fly fishers. To get your hands on this in-depth look DVD, visit the Bug Guy in Booth F566.

Colorado Springs Sport and Boat Show at the Altered Reality Event Center – February 22, 24, 25, 2018

I have been given the chance to share tenkara in a venue that is completely new to me. NoCoFlyFishing and I will be presenting at the Colorado Springs Sport and Boat Show. We will be offering a Fly Casting for Beginners clinic presented by Adam Omernick. I will be offering an Intro to Tenkara clinic as well. We will be talking about guided trip offerings and extended clinics offered throughout the year. This is a new show for us so I do not know what to expect.
