Welcome to the Kebari Box.
If you are interested in learning to tie the kebari that I use while fishing tenkara, this is the place for you. I am pleased to share the techniques I use when tying the kebari patterns I use every day. Through videos and written posts I will be offering, you will be able to fill your kebari box with the same patterns I do. I will also discuss the kebari tying equipment and fly tying specific books that I use for resource material.
Kebari Box Disclaimer
Please be aware I am not a professional kebari tyer. I tie the kebari patterns purely to fill my kebari box. Know that I will do my best to offer the highest quality material that I can for those learning to tie kebari.
Kebari Box Video Notes
When I started learning to tie flies I purchased a book written by Charlie Craven. I also took a course from Charlie at his shop, Charlie’s Fly Box in Arvada, Colorado. You may notice in the videos that I wrap the hook using my left hand. I am actually a right handed person but I wrap with my left hand as I have more control of the materials I am using with my right hand. This was a technique I learned from Charlie and find it to be extremely useful.
If you learned to wrap with your right hand simple reverse the steps I show in the videos and posts.
