Backpacking and Tenkara

Welcome to the Backpacking and Tenkara page.

Backpacking is an amazing activity that allows me to get away from the Rat Race, at least for a day or two. Through the Backpacking and Tenkara page I hope to share my experiences with you. You will be able to find posts relating to backpacking trips I have planned and taken. You will also find discussions on gear I am currently using or have used in the past.

My goal with this page is to teach you how to combine backpacking and tenkara together. Because a tenkara rod collapses down to almost 20 inches in length it is a perfect addition to any backpacking trip. Combining these activities has opened up a whole new world to me. Hopefully you will find the same amount of enjoyment I have doing this.

As an additional bonus of the page I have included a Backpacking Gear Checklist. My gear checklist helps me to make sure that I have everything I will need for any trip. Having a gear checklist gives me piece of mind that I am not forgetting any crucial pieces of gear.1 I am pleased to share this checklist with you. The checklist is available by request as it is password protected.

I look forward to getting your comments on both this page and the posts found here. If you have suggestions on changes to the gear list as well I would love to hear from you. Both the posts and the gear list are works in progress and will continue to evolve.
